The way the plot slowly unfolded as it would reveal each characterвЂ™s story was mesmerizing and kept me glued to my controller. Kennedy, and so many others sent off to investigate all the mutations, strange disappearances, and occurrences. It was about Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Leon S. Its rotted flesh is now a featured background actor in never-ending The Walking Dead franchise.Дespite all this, IвЂ™ve held onto a glimmer (although fading) of hope replaying Revelations would be great again if it returned to its roots.

Between the twenty-two video games, six movie adaptations (thereвЂ™s also a 2020 reboot in the works, announced before the вЂRona), the comic books, the novels, and countless other merchandise, this franchise has been dragged through the mud, tied to the back of a truck and whatвЂ™s remaining of its corpse (if you can even call it a corpse) has been left to rot in the Arizona desert sun. However, throughout the years Resident Evil has become not even a shell of its former self. It was everything a young budding gamer could ask for. Staying up for hours (on the weekends with permission) shooting aliens and hoping this вЂњcannibalism thingвЂќ wasnвЂ™t real. I remember playing the 1996 Resident EvilВ and thinking вЂњthis is so cool!вЂќ It was fresh, original, scary, and just downright enjoyable. IвЂ™m happy enough with that.Ah, Resident Evil: Revelations, so many words can describe this game: atmospheric, foggy. It is simply a fan recreation of what that canceled game might have been like. It should be stressed that this is not the real Resident Evil 3.5, and Capcom had nothing at all to do with this. Using assets from games like RE5: Lost in Nightmares, and the final RE4, It looks super creepy, and captures the spirit of the trailers for the original well.

Called Code: Madman, this fan-made game is based on what we knew of the canceled RE3.5, and thereвЂ™s even a demo of it that you can download and play right now on PC. IвЂ™m for sure not the only one, and now a fan named ShiguWorks has gone and done something about it.

Just look at it in all its disturbing glory. I talked about it at length in my Cancelled Horror Games That ArenвЂ™t Silent Hills video, and I definitely wish that (even with RE7 looking amazing) weвЂ™d been able to get some of the more horror-centric ideas in a real RE game.

Resident Evil 3.5 as its popularly referredВ to (or the Hooked Man Demo) is one of the creepiest things ever done for the series. Publically, we know of at least four different versions that were being developed before they finally settled on the version we got (which was for the best as RE4, of course, went on to become industry-defining and winning dozens of GOTY awards for 2005), but thereвЂ™s always been one version that we never got to play вЂ“ that fans kinda wish weвЂ™d gotten to. As many of you may already know, Resident Evil 4 (much like RE2 before it) went through an incredibly difficult development cycle.
